The Deets:
Hi, its Selkie! This is my blog in which I talk about practically anything, from my day to a specific hyperfixation of the week lolz! It doesn't really have a schedule for when I'll be dropping new entries, so just check on my home page for any new updates, or even on here; weekly of course...or maybe even monthly...who knows lolz!
I also change the song periodically, so stay tuned to that!

Today was a nice morning, i think? lolz, I woke up, made breakfast, and AND watched Kerrang! TV & Scuzz TV from 2002-2006, so a bunch of pop punk, emo, and marilyn manson(?!?!) showed up on meh screen hehe! I also got a bunch of new bands to listen to! And a few from recognized artists that I enjoy their music, I love those channels! Too bad that the official ones got taken down (at least this is true for Kerrang! TV) back in 2024, if this still existed AND in my country, the sheer amount of new music I would've found out about would've been amazing! Millenials rlly do get everything cool, huh?
We need to stuff like this again, imagine?! Not only just 30 minutes in and I already have like 20 music reccs to choose from on slsk! hehe! And as soon as I thought about if Marilyn Manson would show up, he did! For the music videos Mobscene & Tainted Love! They were a bit goofy type of videos though, but had that cutie charm. Seeing them, the later for the first time, he really is such a cutie patootie huh? The vids...r a bit too out there but maybe it'll change when I get to see more of his videos soon with these recordings of tv stations such as Kerrang!, Scuzz, and MTV2!
BTW, Kerrang! and Scuzz's bumpers are so cute!!!! The elephants doing "tricks" on the london(?) bridge and the one with the two kids skip dancing were my personal favs, I wanna see more! They're so interesting....but in a good way! Anyways, thats all from me, see ya lates!
(((i'll add pics of my fav vids later!!!)))

So, if you know me, and know one of my closest friends on the net(hehe), Eugene of Murasaki Diaries, you've probably seen the post they made of the infamous friendrewind (i say infamous but really only like...a dozen people r talking about this lolz); and how the controversies they are, at this point, just making for themselves. Lowkey kinda sad about everything though, it seemed like such a nice replacement for spacehey too. Since, iykyk...the mod situation on spacehey, and the...err... weirdness of napo, its genuinely sad to see all the things imma talk about right now. So, you're probably wondering what the absolute freak I'm talking about. It's about the integrity of friendrewind, and if you haven't created an account on it yet, please dont. Now, let's look a bit into the link I shared with Eugene about FR, this one https://napochan.moe/blog/entry.php?id=9377 .
Basically the gist of it is that one, the site is almost defineltely "vibe coded", aka the person who "created" this site asked ai to make it for him, which pretty much made it obvious even if you don't look at the code itself via develop --> web inspector (i use a mac, so it might be a lil different for others but essentially you don't have to pry into the actual code to figure out its not professionally made), all the pages r different, all of the icons never really go togther unless you squint. The creator is always online, ALWAYS. Its been made known that he has a CHILD, a young CHILD and yet...he's always online? Whatever, but still. It's still kinda suspisious with the whole "gimmick" of the site to be the "better" alternative to spacehey and napo (well anything is better than napo lets be real with ourselves), or even friend project, which I believe the name is based off of? Ew.
Whatever. But I'm like literally heavily summerizing it, which is why I left the link for y'all to look at, I'm terrible at summerizing and I only have like 5% on my PC lolz. But basically (oh lord here comes the millionth basically), the moral of the story is...don't be like me. Do your own research based off FACTS and EVIDENCE instead of the "trust me bro uhhhh because yes" crowd, mostly than not, you don't know their morals, or if they themselves even SAW what they believe in. Some, mostly too, just say the opnion of the person next to them and then that person too and it just becomes a series that went from maybe facts to almost always clickbaity. so ya, thats it lolz

Today was wayyy better day than yesterday! I slept for like 13 hours!!!! That's crazy actually lolz. Though my head didn't hurt as much (only slightly like a feathered touch (lolz) every now and then), but that didn't mean that I would stop taking my vitamins, iron my beloved! Anyways we decided to go out today as well to eat, and were going to eat mediterranean food, but I decided why not eat Kura sushi?
We ate that all the way back in 2023 when we went to Harajuku after all! Why not try the one from North America faction as well? And so we made a reservation and drived there! Here's the inside scope! Enjoy the pics!
Some of these that I ate I forgot to take pics so i'll put those ones's photos from the official site!

Hello once more! Clocking in my latest entry of course, will be the same as last time too, and today was quite fun, until the later afternoon, that is. I ate at urbane cafe tho!
And got ice cream at a local parlour (popcorn and coconut flavoured! super delicious!), but the reason why i said that it was rather not that nice a day was that I got a mega ultra major headache as soon as we got home, super painful! Felt that my head was imploding on itself, that bad! Luckily after a few hours resting after a couple of pills and vitamins it got better, and now around midnight, felt nothing at all! Sorry that this isnt a really long entry, but I just needed to vent for a bit about that, it was rlly scary and hopefully won't happen again. Hopefully, the next entry will be at least a little longer than this one!

Woah, not me actually making a new entry within the month, I feel like a new person(lol)! But today will be a nonpicture day, might as well write about my day(and you'll know the reason why later in this entry) and talk about my morning. Right now tho i'm literally watching a deep dive on the twilight movies/books and how it relates to the author's religious beliefs. Which is lowkey kinda funny because I only watched the first half of the first movie before I stopped bc it was too cringy for my poor soul (the hissing in the middle of the movie when the Cullens were protecting Bella had me bawling and laughing). Tho I'm still, for what it's worth, I'm still team Carlisle (iykyk). Also, I ate some weird amalgamation of an omelet; so enoki, baby kale, eggs(duh), and salmon. It did taste good tho. I also made my own matcha and drank it as I watched the vid and while writing this! Never underestimate the wonderful power of matcha to get thro ur day, tho considering ME that today I only had like 5 hrs of sleep....dom't quote me on that LOLZ.
Anyways, lets stop talking about twilight! I might go too deep in there.....Okay! So today the main reason why I wanted to write this particular morning was because I am leaving Twitter in a few days. It was one of my first SNS accounts that I still have after six years (yikes..) and albietly its probably the addiction calling but I, ever since a certain billionare took it and basically ran it to the ground with hate being the only thing profitable in the website, I did end up quiting it for a while but some incidents at school (i.e sudden isolation) ended up refueling my twitter addiction and I ended up using it ever since. This wasn't THAT bad at the time, however it had really gotten to me during times where I should have been studying very hard subjects that really did need that time to study, not doomscrolling. But at the same time, I do feel that the time wasn't rlly in vain; I did meet some awesome people on there and i'm forever greatful for meeting them and for them to want to talk to me when I posted that on August 16 I'll be finally deleting my account (school starts on September 27), so that part- the community that I formed over time on that horrible yet somewhat fun web site; was so fun for me (like I said before it's probably the addiction that doesn't wanna let go talking though, albiet very philosophical today lolz).
I also wanted to not be on the same website when I can and NEED to teach myself to internet surf again...not just be locked in the same website again and again, when surfing the net helps SO much to discover not just things that I would have never even thought of if I had still been chained to Twitter and/or the other main SNS sites, but also the opportunity to meet new people. Yeah, I feel it's mostly that, but also to take responsibility to actually give my full unwarranted attention to school, ya know, the ONE I'M PAYING FOR? So that's mostly it...I think... Maybe I'm just ranting enough to make it make sense, who knows?
But yeah, (wait, I've been saying that so much lolz, my fav phrase fr fr) and also why not do this experience and possibly regain some of my attention span that I had lost for such a long time and pretty much only learn about this loss after I kid you not, I've been procrasinating watching A MOVIE, and A BOOK that i've been rlly wanting to watch (cough cough Jennifer's Body and Spice & wolf iykyk), and that's pretty damaging to realize, that its not age thats a factor (bc with another book series, bakemonogatari, I geniuinly can read in 2 to 3 days depending on how much I wanna know the whole story, and the series is somewhat better for all types of spans but specifically helps mend a bit of my short attention span but, of course, my phone immediatly recuts those mendings, of course.) But that's all I wanted to say. It's a bit off putting than most of my entiries so I'm sorry that it turned somewhat deep lolz, and such xD, but I swear I'll also do picture based entries soon, though its probably gonna be more this type of writing than not, just considering that I'll be in school somewhat soon and not have that much time to travel as much, ya know?

Hello Again! It's been a couple of months and we ended up doing a different thing this time around, watching a movie. Specifically, The Odessey! Now first, we ended up going to Cheesecake Factory to eat and I got my meal as you can see here:
(Korean Fried Chicken)
And here is what i got to drink:
(Coconut Limeade)
After that we realized that we didnt have a place to put the food chilled, we went to costco quickly before the movie to get a mini cooler and ice to place the food on (whew!) and we then went to the movie at 6:45ish (The movie ended at 10pm !?!?!) and then sat to see the movie. Cheesecake Factory vid --> http://www.kamtape.com/watch?v=3lWHeFJWzIg
I didnt take any pictures or video of the movie...but its not like I could anyways! The movie was WAY too loud and some parts of it (if ya know ya know) were so loud that i had to plug my ears!!!! But the movie (at least the parts I could barely listen to were actually quite good. It had messages of anti war and how war spreads like plague and threatening even the winners of battles like Troy and how you rlly dont see people who have died from said wars as HUMANS but as numbers until they all (metaphorically of course) go and line themselves next to you and you see the sheer NUMBERS of them. I would have wished that they had a stylistic overlay like a blue/yellow overlay on the movie because it just looked a little too....real. Like I understand that its a movie with real people, but that doesn't mean it can't be stylistic! But I like that it appears that they used real locations, maybe thats not true, but it seems like it! Very old-esque movie inspo i see i see. Very good movie tho! I like hehe
(I don't like putting spoilers- mainly bc all of the major points I couldn't hear ANYTHING lolz)

Hello once more! This trip will span four different entries (four different days) of traveling and eating(of course..)! This time instead of going north i.e forests and cold oceans, we went south, so a lot of coastal beaches and somewhat humid-ish air. I'm so glad most of what I wore throughout this trip was cotton/cotton-blend.... First, we didn't go to our desired location quite early like last time, we went around afternoon time-ish, and usually when we go places we explore and then check in at the hotel- but this specific hotel was apparently known to overbook to a lot of people so we immediately went to check in...there was a huge line!!!! Like around the lobby big (and the lobby was massive...), but thankfully the receptionists were very fast and it took us less than 30 minutes to get checked in. Once we left that area the line got even bigger!!! Hopefully everyone got their hotels without any fault! After that we went to a favorite Japanese grocery store that had 5 different food shops inside of it! So me and my dad got Zaru soba but I got it with assorted veggies and fish fried tempura style.
Doesn't it look delicious?!
Later on we shopped as well, I got some Matcha crystal mochi, Canmake foundation refills, and a trial of shampoo + conditioner (smelt like mint!); so quite a haul! Then we actually went in our hotel and OMG we were astonished at how lovely the view was! Heres a couple of pics:
So victorian style fr fr
The ports of course!
The lamp was such a mood honestly
And finally, at nighttime. Now thats pretty much it for today, tomorrow we'll be going to an aquarium and some thrifting shops, so stay tuned!

Today is the last day that we are near the lake, and this whole day really nothing happened apart from crossing state lines to take incredible pictures, it was quite a long yet nice trip, I saw so many cows!
From when we left the woods.
Cross state lines
Came back to our original state. We later went to a cowboy themed diner around here
A tuna melt with a root beer float! The ice cream they used was SO good!!!
Nearby that diner we went to a danish styled bakery, it was so cute!!!
And that was the end of this trip! On Sunday, we go once more to the beach, so stay tuned!

Hello once more! It's our last full day here at the lake, and not much happened ya know? Just going at this point wholly around the lake that you can before the road ends and it turns to pure wilderness. But we ate some yummy food!
Above was spinach, mushroom, and cheese empanada, below was a cubed ham and cheese one! Both with chimichurri sauce ofc.
This absolute diva I found just in the wild LOL
And lastly as we decided to head home we found this mini plaza with a italian pastry place and I chose a chocolate chip cannoli (it doesn't even look like one LOL)
As we left, we saw an abandoned casino place with absolute PEAK architecture, so cute!
And thats it! It started to rain as soon as we entered our cabin lol, stay tuned for more blogging tomorrow!

Good afternoon, it is another day in our trip is slowly coming into a close as we leave on Friday, but today was very chill compared to the other two days, so nothing much was happening at all. What I ate for dinner yesterday I ate the leftovers for breakfast today, so a very lazy day haha! I even watched My Cat From Hell! We went later on in the day to a pizza place where they had a salmon salad with goat cheese! I really wanted to try it just out of curiosity to be honest. While in the resturant since it was located seaside, a bird would try to get inside, and it did! Flew everywhere before making its grand farewell as the workers were trying to get it out hah! By the way, the bird was a Grackle.
After we left the pizza place, we ended up going to an ice cream shop, and I ordered a Honey Lavender Affogato, it was so yummy!
And we saw some pretty flowers on the way back to our cabin!

Hello everyone, how are you this evening? Today was quite a trip thoughout various cities big and small, so we'll start in the morning. Early in the morning, we went to a small harbour town to eat breakfast at a diner whose theme was citruses! The tile of the resturaunt was full of lemons and even one of the restrooms was covered head to toe in oranges(even the soap was orange-flavor)!
Hot chocolate again, of course~

Later on, we went to a big city nearby and they had a botanical garden, so of course we went as well, and even saw a whole bunch of birds that I haven't seen before, so very much a plus! Here are a few pictures that I took of the fauna I saw while in the garden in the various "regions" they had plants of each.
And after that, we got parched of walking virtually everywhere, so we went back to the harbour city from the morning to eat from the Peruvian bistro that we always go to, its always SO good!!! PM me in my various social media accounts to know the location, I even have three location cards that I got from the resturant!
It had a whole bunch of seafood, including cooked clams, a slab of swordfish, itty bitty octopi, and whole shrimp too!
And it came with coconut rice! Also has pieces of beige raisins!
Although, after the botanical garden rondevous we saw a bunch of thrift stores so we went to three; one was very pricy but had a bunch of designer clothing (I saw even vintage Channel!!!) so I really didnt find anything that would catch my eye, the second one was a thrift store full of different vendors but hated the fact that they were selling MALL BRAND clothing for more tham 70 bucks!!!! Literally one was a BLEACHED Unionbay shirt selling for 70$??!! I happily left soon after. Then the third one was somewhat like the second one but unlike the former, the prices wouldn't really reach into the 50 dollar range, so that was nice. I even got a Desigual dress!!!

Hello once more! Sorry for making this blog quite late compared to the oldest one here below...I had to study so much for my university classes, but now we're on break! And you know what that means....vacation!!! We're going north this time (aren't we always?), so we'll do multiple stops alongside the coast and maybe even go on some thrift stores along the way! So today was mostly an all driving day, but we started off the day at a small Mexican Cafe a couple of hours away from us, but nothing quite major yet.
Hot chocolate of course, and it looks quite pretty doesn't it?
And an omelette of course too!
But the farther we went, we couldn't go to much places, since most close quite early but after 6 ish hours on the road we ended up at a beach city to eat just before we went to our hotel. So I ordered a salad, which was quite tasty; the sauce was a spicy-but-not-really-spicy wasabi sauce.
And as we left the restaurant and back to go and check in into our hotel we saw that a thrift store was still open so obviously I went! Haul at the end of course! But here are some cool pics of our hotel room, it was quite pretty, don't ya think?
Now, for the thrift haul:

Hii guys, its time for a new blog entry and this time it will be review based! Why, you may ask? I got the new Macbook Neo!!!! Yay!!!!! Though throughout this entry I will be referring it to an iBook Neo for funsies! Why? Because! But lets down with it, yes? Some backstory was that we originally ordered it around march 11~ and UPS was supposed to be our carrier, but someone within the facility most likely stole it because it never left the nearest UPS facility that it was "stuck" in. Seeing this and the fact that it never left that facility, we canceled and refunded the order and bought it somewhat far away (the only apple store within 2 hrs of where I live that even had them in stock, specifically the pink one (which was the one I wanted btw!), and it was inside a hugeeee mall so ofc we did more shopping there, but now with that behind us, how about an actual review of it? I got the cheaper model w/o the finger ID, and it is GORG. You're not rlly missing out on much if you also end up buying the cheaper model, and compared to my Macbook Pro, it runs really fast and efficently! The "liquid glass" style that they advertised that it was gonna be everywhere with this iBook neo's OS is what I was quite skeptical with, considering I LOVE skeuomorphism with all of my heart, but it does actually end up looking very nice and almost "fog" like? Ofc seeing this, I added ARIA the animation wallpapers to it, and it fits so well you can see it here, and what I love about the pink version is that almost everything, like the highlighting feature for example, is pink too! You can see it here as well! And here's the top if anyone's wondering here too. I really do love this computer very much, though the only thing (flaws if you would even call them that) is that when you create a split screen w/ two windows, the clicker freaks out(or maybe it's just my bad i dunno LOL) and doesnt respond to some clicks but when you either fullscreen or doubleclick on that window the mouse is normal again. And the settings app is literally the iphone's system preferences, and that kinda makes it harder to look for specific stuff if you're like me and you're used to the actual system app in previous OS's. But other than that it's pretty much smooth sailing hehe! Thx for listening to me yap, and this is the end of this entry, see you again one day!

Hello guys! It's literally been a whole while, huh? I was trying to find a good time to write but as usual, that time never came...But! Now I can write(literally in my procrasination arc), and writing I shall! Nothing major has happened, or has it? I don't even remember what I last talked about, but I did pass all of my classes last quarter yay! Now I'll be taking Chemistry, Biology(both intros), Genome & Dynamics(lab), & Precalculus 2! Lowkey the Chem and Bio classes are so scary, and fast! We already have a midterm for Bio on Friday so I've been trying to study for that, and for chem as well! After I'm done writing this section I'll be doing notes for Chemistry so yee. But even though they are hard classes, they're both very interesting, like actually learning how a magician does their tricks from behind the curtain, it's all so cool!
The labs too are exciting as well! The way that I could talk about them is that they remind me of making a recipe for a pie or something, it's all just learning how to "bake" and then just follow instructions...very cool. But apart from that, I haven't been up to much, other than that. But I have ordered a few things off the net, including the new Macbook Neo! It looks quite cute (I got the "blush" version...just call it pink, okay?!?!), but it hasn't arrived yet, and has been stuck with the shipping carrier for 4 days now! It was suppose to come on the 8th, and I think something happened to it! At this point I'd just be better off gaslighting myself to think that I never ordered it so when it eventually comes I'll just be surprised < / 3....But I also did order two other things; a 2012 hello kitty clock & a clover memo pad! The clock I needed since my old one is literally giving me heart attacks now (powers down in middle of the night and makes me think it was 12 pm(my class was at this time) when in reality it was 6am < / 3) so I tossed that one and I got this one, which is analog. I like it, very pretty and huge! I wasn't it expecting to be bigger than my head but oh well, what a lovely surprise! The memo pad hasn't come in yet, since I just ordered it yesterday! I need one thats tiny yet enough to write on, since I need to make it a habit to write things down so I don't forget, it's the perfect thing for me! (I also need to make it a habit to bring my planner and write important deets on it....curse my adhd brain grrr!).
